REVERSE YOUR THINKING ABOUT MONEY
im1

The first thing we need to talk about in this money section is the big question. ???
Whose money is it?   It’s God’s money, all things belong to God.  Not many people ever think of money as God’s money.  Even Godly people still think of it as Their Money.  Why is this?  It is part of that Me, Me, Me, and I, I, I syndrome.   When you start to appreciate money knowing that it is coming from God, it will make you a more responsible caretaker of his blessings upon you.

This is where you can look at what God has given you and do the right thing with it.
Reverse your thinking from what the world thinks to what God thinks.

Money Matters - Reverse Your Thinking

The Way Earthly People
Spend Their Money

The Way Godly People
Need To Spend God’s Money

They Share it:     First thing they do is go out to dinner, dancing, drinking, gambling, movies, etc.  Kid’s allowances and letting people borrow on your paydays is what normally happens.

First: Give it to Christ:  Do your tithing first.  God comes first in everything we do.
No Exceptions.

They Spend it: Second, they start paying bills, rent electric, insurance, groceries and a tank of gas.

Second:  We save it. Start with 10% and you will find out soon enough that you could probably do a lot more.

They Save it: Third they try to save it.  Usually they never have enough for this, and if they do, they dip into it fast.

Third: We Spend it.  Prioritize your bills. Take care of the hard bills first: Rent Electric etc.  then do the gas, groceries, etc.

They Give it to Christ: Last, Christ gets the crumbs, the leftovers, if anything at all.  How do you think He feels about this?  Do you think he will give you His Blessings?

Last: you can share it.  Kids projects, maybe dinner out, or even better an added blessing to someone in need.  Or you can use it to pay down credit or add to savings.  Create a rainy day fund to use month by month.

The table above shows how the entire population of earthly and even many of the Godly people spends their money.  This idea came to me when I started looking at the world thru God’s eyes.  I have never seen this concept anywhere.   If the world is doing it, it’s probably wrong and if the world is not doing it, it is probably the right thing to do.  Satan has slowly twisted this entire world into this backwards, confusing, and ungodly culture.  If you simplify it and look at what Christ does, you can find the answers.  Christ turned this world upside down for a time, and that is what I am showing you to do with your money responsibilities.  Turn them all upside down.  Reverse your thinking pattern.  Instead of sharing it first, you share it last, and instead of giving to Christ last, you give to Christ first.  It’s so simple; I can’t believe that nobody has picked up on this.  It works better than anything you will ever find.  Try it today.  Do the 6 month challenge and God will bless you for your commitments.

Tithing:  Do you tithe on the gross or the net?  I haven’t seen a Bible definition yet, but first fruits mean the first of all.   Ask yourself this: Do you want a Net Blessing, or do you want a Gross Blessing

Here Are Just a Couple of Money Saving Ideas – Look Around and You Will Find More

Car Payments:  If you have a car payment, get rid of it.  There is no point what-so-ever to have a payment.  A new car always seems to be about the ego.  If you can afford it; great, pay cash.  When you have a car that is completely paid for like mine, you can also have a lower insurance bill if you go just liability insurance.  You still may want full coverage.  Most car payments with the added insurance run over $500.00++ dollars a month.  One year is $6,000.00, Five years is $30,000.00.   You just spent $30,000.00++ dollars on something that is now old and basically worthless.  Why waste your money on things that won’t last?  You can always get a great running car at a fraction of the price.  Now what I like to do in this situation is take the money that you are saving on those high car payments and put them in a separate fund.  Put that $500.00 a month that you would have spent into a
Special Auto Fund and in 6 months you have $3,000.00.  This is nice for emergency car repairs, or for your next car.  In no time at all, you have enough money to get what you really want and pay cash.  What I do is run that old car till it dies and then donate it to a charity for a tax write off.
Kids Allowances – Don’t give it to them on the same date or day.  Then they start expecting it instead of appreciating it and respecting it.  Give it to them as a love gift from time to time when you see fit to do so.  Never loan money, unless it is after all the bills are paid and it’s part of The Sharing Plan.  You may never get it back.  People love to hit you up on your paydays.  They study when you get paid.
GAS - Eliminate Trips:  This is a huge issue today.  How do we save here?  The easiest way is to STOP DRIVING.  Plan your trips for just one day a week.  No more 3 trips a day.  One morning a week, I will get everything done, and if I don’t get it done, it will just have to wait until next week.  Things can wait.  We don’t need to be at everyone’s beckoning call all the time.   This will save a ton of money and a ton of time too.  You will actually be relieved and more at peace for doing this.
One thing UPS Shipping did was make their drivers do all right hand turns.  This is amazing!  Plan all your stops and make your route so it goes in a clockwise direction.  This is a Two Edged Sword, not only does it save you gas in the car, but it saves you hours a month in left hand turn lanes.  UPS did this on a computer program and it saves them millions of dollars a year.  You too can use the same concept and save a lot of time and money.  When you first do this, map it out.  After a couple of times, your mind will start automatically thinking in this process.    This also keeps you from making as many impulse shopping stops that you don’t need to spend money on.
Don’t go out in the heat of the day.  This is the time you burn up more gas and use the air heavier.  Plus there is generally a LOT more traffic then.  A lot more stop and go burns up a lot more fuel.
Look At Bus Routes.  Sometimes you can find a straight shot to your location that is easy.  Do the math.  It may save enough on a monthly basis to take advantage of.  I had a bus route that was a straight shot to work; it was 14 miles each way.  It cost me $112.00 in gas a month or $30.00 on the bus for a monthly pass.  I still kept the car, just not for this trip.  The extra 15 minutes each way was worth it.  Plus I wasn’t putting the wear and tear on the car.
Think About A Scooter.  They get 100 miles to the gallon and you can put a basket on them if you want.  Most are approved to go on the streets without a license.  There is some risk involved; however, your situation may make it a great idea.
Home Air Conditioning:  The best way to save here is not to use it.  If you do, only use it during peak hours.  I live in the desert and I still don’t need it for many morning hours.   Close off all the rooms that you don’t need to keep cool.  I would even go as far to say that in the hot summer months, shrink the size of your house. You could probably make a decision to only live in 40% of your house for those months.  I know people that will put their bed in the living room for the summer and shut down ½ of their house and they save thousands of dollars every summer.
Insurance:  If you can put your car and home insurance together, you will usually save 30% on the total.  Do your homework and you will find a better policy at a better price.  Start with your companies and let them know what you want to do.  Don’t make a commitment until you can check a couple others.  You may also then go back to them with quotes and give them a chance to beat them.  If you are in a good standing, many times they can do this.
This is the way God wants you to handle His money!!
Reverse your thinking about money and you will have far more money than you ever had before!!

Look at your totals every month and ask yourself where you want to make adjustments
I guarantee you that God can do more with 90% of your check
than you could ever do with 100% of your check by yourself.

He will make your dollars stretch.   He will direct you to those money saving deals.   He will make your car get an extra couple of miles to the gallon.  He will get you that raise / better paying job / extra hours / extra income.  He will protect you from the attacks of unexpected expenses and you won’t even know it.  He will bless you with the greatest protection and abundance.

The 6 Month Challenge
I challenge everybody to do this for 6 months.  You will find out that you are now in control of God’s money instead of money controlling you.   Plus you will have a lot more money…
This Is As Simple As It Gets.  Simplify Your Life.  Spend Less and Save More!

It’s really neat also when you start looking at how much you are giving to the church.  You will say I’m giving that much to the church?  It may seem like a lot, yet it’s the right thing to do and Jesus loves a cheerful giver.  This is a pivotal moment to look at how much money you’re giving to the church and say, I Trust You Jesus!  I trust you with my life and YOUR finances.  The only people who do not tithe properly are the ones that don’t completely trust Christ.  Until you come to this understanding, your spiritual development is restricted by your guilt, shame, and selfishness.  Your greed, faithlessness, and your ignorance will stop you from God’s total blessings.  Change your spending for Him. Put Him first in your life because you love Him and want to do His will.  He will change and bless you for it.

You must get off this living paycheck to paycheck mentality.  That is the worldly view.  Focus your attention on the Monthly Budgets.  I actually got to the point by this system, where I could go the entire month without cashing one single paycheck.  Then I would cash all of them and proceed thru the steps.   I was able to budget my funds with plenty left over and it was an absolute thrill when I came across the months where I had an extra paycheck.  If you get paid weekly; four times a year you will get an extra paycheck in that month.  If you get paid bi-weekly, 2 times a year you will get an extra paycheck.  The way you spend your checks now, you will never get to see those extra checks.  But when you follow this system, pretty soon you will have a lot of extra money to save, spend or give.
You will be absolutely amazed with your progress after just a couple of months. When you have additional funds, you can put it into savings or you can chop down debt that has the highest interest rate.   It is a lot better to pay off high interest than have your money sitting in the bank at low interest.  I do not recommend using your emergency fund for this.  You should always have a six month to a year savings for hard times.
Your Monthly Rainy Day Fund should keep building up for those unexpected emergencies that pop up from time to time.  This is a necessity to protect your savings

The Joseph Plan Groceries is a great program.  Ask me about it!  That is a seminar all in itself.

You need to write out your plan and stick to it. It takes a couple of paychecks to get on a new system, but after that, you are on a financial awareness that you could never believe was possible.  It will show you where you need to cut back or make changes.  Track your progress.  There is a monthly sheet, with details, available for you to copy.   I can not stress this concept enough.  Even for people that have a lot of money, this will amaze you as to how much better you could be saving.
The whole idea here is to get to, and maintain, a debt free lifestyle.   Then look at how much money will be available to you.  Christ wants you to be blessed and so do I.  Thank You for your dedication.
